In Alpbachtal, our beautiful valley in the Tyrolean Alps, Christmas is especially wonderful. Just the journey to Der Böglerhof, one of the most romantic hotels in Austria, is a special experience. The snowy mountains, picturesque villages, and natural idyll are sure to make your eyes shine. Advent and Christmastime are celebrated with lots of traditions and customs here. For example, a magical Christmas market is held in Reith in Alpbachtal on the fourth Sunday of Advent: Pre-Christmas celebrations in Reith. In the village square, Christmas trees are decorated, there’s a multi-faceted programme with music, dancing, and theatre, and of course, there’s also plenty to munch, crunch, and sip. In Breitenbach, on the other hand, the devilish “Perchten” figures still roam from farm to farm, accompanying St. Nicholas on his journey. What else can you experience here?
